The Mana Community Grants Foundation Porirua Christmas at the Park  at Elsdon Park on Saturday 8 December is a church and community celebration of Christmas for the whole family.

Headlined by some of New Zealand's top performers, the event includes outstanding music, Carols by candlelight, drama, dance and Christmas readings.

Come and enjoy a heartwarming Christmas event for the whole family.

Performers include the ever popular Funky Monkeys, Local singer Fuatino Malo, the Zone Dance crew, the Ukulele Choir, and Special Guest George McArdle (of the Little River Band).

Everyone is welcome to this free, major festival event celebrating what Christmas is really all about.  

It has been part of Porirua’s Christmas celebrations for 17 years, starting off as a small group singing carols outside the Titahi Bay Post Office, to Carols at K-Mart plaza, then Aotea Lagoon, and now in the Porirua city centre. Every year it's gotten bigger and better as more and more people come together to celebrate Christmas.

The Mana Community Grants Foundation Christmas at the Park is a high quality event attended by more than 10,000 people and some of New Zealand's best performers every year. The event is held outdoors with a large covered stage, professional sound and lighting and a large LED screen.  It is multicultural, non-denominational and inclusive of the cross-section of our community.  It’s a great event.

Food stalls are arranged around the perimeter of Elsdon Park. Bring a rug and a healthy dose of Christmas spirit.

Elsdon Park is on the main road through Porirua towards Titahi Bay.  Look for the large stage. Parking is available at Porirua School, next to Elsdon Park.

The Funky Monkeys

A favourite who have featured at our event for a number of years. We want to take you into the ‘groovy world’ of the Funky Monkeys – three guys who love entertaining children but get rave reviews from parents and others whenever they entertain. They are performing at a number of major Christmas events in the big cities and television – and we have them again for our Porirua Festival.

George McArdle

Formally the bass player in the Little River Band, one of the most highly acclaimed rick music bands of all time and the first Australia group to make the top ten in the United Stated, achieving Gold Status. The Little River Band remains the only band to have ever achieved a top ten hit in the United States for six consecutive years.

Fautino Malo

Fautino Malo is a 17 year old Tawa College student, classical singer and composer. She has been a member of the international award-winning New Zealand Secondary Students Choir for 4 years.  Performances include a lead in the Malaga and opening this year’s Teuila Variety festival in Samoa.  Next year she is off to Greece with the NZSSC, proud to be presenting Porirua to the World..

Zone Dance Academy

Back again this year to perform, the Zone Dance Academy is located in Elsdon Porirua. With over 280 students aged from 2.5 years to adults taking classes in Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz, American Tap, Cheerleading, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Vocals, Pilates and much more!
