Movember is Back

Ready, set, mo!

Get shaving, then get growing! Movember is once again on our doorstep and it's your excuse to grow the filthiest mo you can for a good cause - to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and mental health.

This year's campaign is really cute (and by that, I mean rugged and manly), and themed 'Mo and Sons', with lots of men and the men in their lives (and the ladies in their lives too) supporting the campaign. I also appreciate the inclusion in the rules that "each mo bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman". So channel your Enzo Bresolin this Movember and grow the greatest mo you can, and stay rad.

Although you may not have had enough time to grow one (in a day), a mo would be a sweet accessory to wear to La Boca Loca's Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) party on November 2.

The Mexican restaurant, in Miramar, will mark the day of honouring and remembering loved ones with a celebration of life, good food and drink and loved ones who are still with us, with a party from 6.30pm.

There'll be a makeup artist on hand to transform you into a calavera and the Amazing Travelling Photobooth will be capturing the event on film. And I'll also be there - major drawcard, right?

Pickle

Also, be sure to check out Pickle, the new restaurant which has replaced Pan de Muerto (which is moving to Tory Street and reopens next month) in the Sandwiches building on Kent Terrace.

Fantastic service and amazing food - with lots of options for us vege-heads. Be sure to try the falafel dog or the mac'n'cheese sliders sans bacon.

Spielberg season at the Embassy

It's a great spot to dine before one of The Embassy's screenings of old Spielberg films. Last night, I saw Jurassic Park on the big screen for the first time since age six, and it was EPIC. The Embassy also has screenings of Jaws and Raiders of the Lost Ark coming up.

That's all for now. Stay cool amigos!
