We welcome you to the 2nd Oceania Ecosystem Services Forum to be held in Ōtautahi (Christchurch), Aotearoa New Zealand.

What are ecosystem services?

"The air we breathe, the water we drink, the soils that sustain our pastures, forestry, orchards and crops are examples of environmental goods that benefit humans. When the marine environment allows tuna, snapper, hoki, squid and other commercial species to thrive, it is providing an ecosystem service to the fishing industry."

The forum will build on the success of the first Oceania Ecosystem Services Forum held in 2017 in Brisbane, Australia in raising the profile of the value of ecosystems in decision-making in the Oceania region.

The 2019 Forum will bring together policymakers, businesses, community leaders, researchers and practitioners with the aspiration of managing, restoring and creating healthy communities and ecosystems for a resilient future.

The forum includes workshops, plenaries, oral presentations, posters, community events and a fieldtrip.
