Wellington Repertory is proud to be producing the New Zealand premiere of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin!

Based on the best-selling novel by Louis de Bernieres, adapted by Rona Munro, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin is set on the Greek island of Cephalonia in 1941. Captain Corelli, an enigmatic young Italian officer, is posted to the idyllic Greek island as part of the occupying forces.

The Captain soon discovers all of the complexities of love, and how it can blossom in the most unexpected and profound way. The play highlights the brutal life and epic sweep of the soldiers caught up in the constantly changing politics of war.
