The Wellington waterfront is easily accessed from the Wellington central city for people to
promenade, cycle or just make use of the various attractions and facilities. It provides a focal
point for the city, particularly where the CBD’s high-rise buildings gaze down rather like a huge
amphitheatre.
In total, however, the waterfront extends for miles beyond Oriental Bay, taking in Evans Bay and all the rocky and sandy beaches
in the eastern and southern suburbs. This extended coastline provides an almost uninterrupted
opportunity to walk, cycle or drive.
Check out locations on the waterfront, including Queens Wharf, TSB Bank Arena, Frank Kitts Park, the Taranaki Street Wharf, Odlins Plaza, Te Papa and Scorching Bay.
