Jerningham, then beyond it becomes Evans Bay
Parade as it heads to Kilbirnie.
The area boasts many beautiful character houses and modern apartments on the southern side and
the beautiful blue sea on the other.
The Carter Fountain is a distinctive and much-loved feature of Oriental Bay, delighting residents
since the 1970s. Located offshore in Oriental Bay, the fountain was a gift to the city from local
resident Hugh Carter who was inspired by a fountain he saw in Geneva in the early 1960s.
On a hot summer's day, nothing beats strolling along the promenade and taking in the fresh sea
breeze. Oriental Bay is definitely a spot worth visiting.
